I’m going to review a large selection of Disney picture books from Suncolor, 三采文化.
- Disney Princess Collection
- Disney Movies Collection
- Disney Stories Collection
- Disney Social Emotional Collection
- Disney Language Collection
They are, in my opinion, the best at translated picture books and comics in the industry. You’ll find a lot of English and Korean translated educational comics. They specialize in this area and this is why I chose this publisher to buy my Disney books.
Here’s what I love about their books:
- Colors are SUPERB
- Language isn’t babyish and you can use it to teach kids harder Chinese terms
- Gives the new shifting readers (from picture to bridge) a bridge to bridge. This means that those that are moving from picture books but not quite ready for bridge because they love having colorful pictures to look at while reading can use this as that bridge of bridge. These sets have MORE words than regular picture books, are longer, and uses harder terms.
- Stories are well written and translated.
- My kids have been obsessed so obviously a win for me.
As background, I have a four and six year old. My four year old is reading full on bridge books for first to third graders already and SHE IS CRAZY ABOUT THESE BOOKS. My six year old has been reading 2nd-4th grade bridge books as well as books without zhuyin (phonetic) assistance and she also is CRAZY ABOUT THESE.

Who doesn’t love Disney Princesses!!! These are the classic princesses that hu hum… I grew up with and of course I love them. This is also the reason why I’ve set the age to “adult” as well because these were my childhood favorites and I had an amazing time reading through them. There are plenty of harder phrases for them to learn and a couple very common idioms in each book!

There are two more in this set I wasn’t able to review during the video:
無敵破壞王電影原著讀本1+2集 Wreck it Ralph 汽車總動員3:閃電再起 電影原著繪本
This set is written to retell the stories in the newer movies that have been released in recent years. It’s written with even more words than the princess collection. Three of the books Wreck it Ralph, Zootopia and The Good Dinosaur have no zhuyin and are super thick for a picture book. However, my four year old has read The Good Dinosaur cover to cover with no issues and recognizes about 90% or more of the characters. With a longer story, the stories are more developed with more detail and it really captured her attention. I was afraid the words would be too small in the book for her to enjoy but I guess when the stories are well written with beautiful pictures and a good story line, the child will MAKE IT HAPPEN to read it! Thanking these two books, I think she probably learned another 30 characters.
My favorite obviously is POOH!!!!!!!! I don’t need to explain. Like… look at how charming it is!!!

How many people like Frozen? Ok, I hear all the screaming already. So for those that just cannot get enough of Frozen and need to see MORE AND MORE AND MORE AND MORE stories, well, these books are it.
They are bilingual. They are thick and come with multiple stories that are spin off short stories. They are first written in English and translated to Chinese so the English portion is very decently written. The Chinese translations are good too. There will NOT be evil monsters or bad guys mostly in these books. They are filled with more happy heart warming sort of stories. The first story I retold is about Anna having her fifth birthday. First the serious one and then a secret party given to her by Elsa where she made it just perfect. Showed sister love. It was very sweet.
I actually consider these bridge books. They are long and have a lot of characters. Gives great practice and if your children love Disney, hopefully there’ll be less struggle to get them to read more each day!

迪士尼情緒教育繪本套書 (三本) – 3 Books in One Set
For this set, it’s all about learning the social emotional skills children often have trouble with like how to be patient, caring, etc. This set I would say it’s more for 6 and under due to the stories not being as mature. Even if not as mature in stories, some phrases are still worth teaching and it’s still not written in baby language.

There’s no video for this but book previews are below this article for each one. This set is actually done for children four and under. It teaches simple words and sentences. It has the story characters but do not retell any stories that relate to the movies. The illustrations are not from the movies either but they are very charming and I think this set would be fit for babies. Inside each book, there’s a sheet on how to use the book at each age range. For babies, you teach nouns, verbs, etc. For 2-4, you can ask questions about the short story lines or what they’re doing and saying. For those that want really simple sentences, big words and English translations, this would be the only set that would be fit for the real young crowd. The instruction education sheets are here:
