This is a great set of books for lower to middle elementary level reading for simplified Chinese. It’s a series of story about children’s lives and what it means to lie to see people growing old, making friends, getting good/bad grades, etc. In other words, it’s about overcoming challenges. It was translated from a Japanese set. The same set is also available in traditional Chinese though only three out of the six books are out as of 11/2019. There’s no pinyin inside so your character recognition should be strong 1200+ to enjoy this set.
